Congratulations to Christine Foley, the recipient of August’s Outstanding Achievement Award. Christine was recognized for the many attributes she brings to her role of DSP at the Santangelo Residence. Christine was described by the Residence Manager as “humble,” “respectful”, “never judgmental”, and “truly committed to the service of others.” Christine was also being recognized for stepping up and committing herself to accompany one of the residents for two straight cold winter months to early morning sessions of daily radiation treatments. Christine and the resident’s family made sure that these treatment sessions were as supportive, fun and stress free as possible. In the words of her manager, “Christine created a safety net and secured a consistent quality of care without any change to (the resident’s) daily life and routine. Christine Foley truly exemplifies the tremendous impact that a person could make on another person’s life." This time spent making the best out of a challenging situation was especially precious and valuable -as the resident passed away two months after the treatments.
On the day Christine was being recognized, the room was packed with her coworkers and the management team from Santangelo, as well as the family of the resident and members of GEC administration and the Board President. Congratulations Christine, and thank you for all that you do for the Santangelo Residence.
