Residential Manager of the Year

Residential Manager of the Year

Elizabeth (Cookie) Tiedemann was named “Manager of the Year,” by Susan Sahm, GEC’s Residential Director in January. Elizabeth has worked at GEC for over 40 years beginning her career as a Direct Support Professional, and holding other positions, including Assistant Manager at DeFelippo Residence. Elizabeth was promoted to the Manager position in 2001 when Sichenze Residence opened its doors, and has managed the residence ever since. In the words of Susan, “Elizabeth is compassionate, well organized, decisive and accessible. She has a clear understanding of the agency’s mission of care and communicates that to all those she supervises. She has a great rapport with the staff as well as with her colleagues.”

In addition to managing the Sichenze Residence, Elizabeth is also a SCIP Senior Trainer and is always ready to help others and share her expertise. The Sichenze residents and their families appreciate all that she does to promote a caring and nurturing family environment. In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Elizabeth received gifts from the agency and her colleagues. It was an emotional afternoon for Elizabeth who said, “Thank you for letting me grow up with all of you. It has been a lifetime, and I appreciate the opportunity to celebrate life with my colleagues.”
