Celebrating Rosalie: 80 Years of Joy and Community

On March 10, 2026, we proudly celebrated a very special milestone – Rosalie's 80th birthday. Rosalie has been a cherished member of The Guild for Exceptional Children’s family for more than 4 decades. She moved into the Martini Residence in November 1983 and has been brightening the lives of everyone around her ever since. Rosalie’s 80th was celebrated in true GEC fashion with a wonderful party at the Greenhouse Café. Many current Martini staff, several former staff members, and members of the Guild’s leadership, including our CEO, COO, Residential Director, and Quality Assurance Director, came together to celebrate the life of someone who has brought so much joy to so many.

Rosalie loves being the center of attention and has a personality that fills the room. She enjoys talking about food – especially coffee, donuts and ravioli- and is always happy to join staff for a trip to Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee and something sweet. One of Rosalie’s favorite pastimes is sitting on the front porch of the Martini Residence waving to neighbors and greeting staff as they arrive. She never hesitates to let everyone know whether she is having a good day or a bad day. Music is another one of Rosalie’s great joys. She loves listening to the oldies, especially classics like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, often enjoying the music while relaxing on the porch.

Over the years, Rosalie has formed many close relationships with staff who care for her deeply. She shares a particularly special connection with Lisa and Lana, who enjoy taking her out for lunch, coffee and manicures. Rosalie has touched countless lives with her humor, honesty and warmth. We are grateful to share her journey and proud to call her part of our GEC family. We wish Rosalie many more years filled with love, laughter, coffee and sweet treats.
