In July, GEC launched a monthly initiative that recognizes exceptional actions of front-line workers. Each month, one employee will be awarded GEC's Outstanding Achievement Award to acknowledge exceptional acts in the workplace. Staff for this award will be nominated by their supervisor/manager, and a panel, which includes members of the administration will review the nominees and select one of the employees. Even though nearly everyone should be honored for their dedication and hard work, this award will focus on staff who have gone “above and beyond” what their day-to-day work calls for. A monthly announcement will be made in our online system, Paylocity as to who will be honored and the employee will also be featured on GEC's website, Facebook, and Instagram. In addition to our gratitude and the award, honorees will receive a $500 gift card.
July’s Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to Conklin Residence DSP, Eben Rivera. Eben recently saved the life of a person in the residence due to his quick thinking and action during a choking emergency. We later learned that in his 29 years with GEC, Eben has saved other people from choking. What a fine example for our first ever Outstanding Achievement Award! Thank you Eben, for your years of service, your loyalty to GEC, and for your quick thinking and action in putting the needs of our individuals first!
