On Friday, May 9th, the sights and sounds of the 60’s permeated the Marine Park Golf Club on Flatbush Avenue as GEC had their annual beer tasting festival and fundraiser. People came from all over to support GEC, and were rewarded with loads of sumptuous food, fantastic music from the band MADDJACK and a variety of 60s themed raffles and games. Many people came dressed to the nines in their 60s garb and ready to dance the night away. GEC has been holding this event at Marine Park Golf Club since it began 13 years ago, and none of it would be possible without the generosity of Mike Giordano and Steve Fabrizio, the owners there.
This year, the development department and volunteers from the development committee did a stellar job, and raised over $20,000 to improve the infrastructure in two of our ICF residences, to make it safer for people with mobility challenges to enter and exit those residences. Joe Riley, CEO of the Guild, thanked everybody for their ongoing support of our mission of caring and supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and welcomed everyone in attendance into our circle of kindness!
