Since the very beginning of her employment at GEC over 18 years ago, Helen has stood out for her kindness and competence. Over the years, Helen has continuously stepped up whenever she was needed, and has done that with professionalism, compassion, and grace. Her supervisors describe her as dedicated, committed, and compassionate. Her dedication, support, and genuine care for others have made a lasting impact on so many people. GEC is truly fortunate to have someone like Helen as part of their day program staff.
Helen shows up with a smile, a compassionate heart, and the drive to ensure all day-to-day tasks are completed. Her longevity and expertise has helped to shape new staff with her guidance and leadership, helping to ensure that the people supported in Without Walls are treated with dignity and respect. Although she is soft-spoken, she is a fierce advocate for the individuals and is always ready to jump in and support when needed. In fact, Helen is among the first to volunteer when GEC is having an event: she has rolled up her sleeves and helped with beer tastings, fall galas, art studio events, school groups and so much more.
