Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis visited GEC to announce that $2 million in federal funding had been secured for renovations to several of GEC's buildings. The exciting announcement was held in the backyard of the day program that will be benefiting from the funding. Nearly 100 GEC staff and program participants were there to cheer on the news.
The buildings that will be renovated, located on Third Avenue, include a day habiltation program and residential apartments. They are in need of remodeling to better suit the needs of the people who come to our programs every day. This funding will go a long way in improving the program spaces and making them safer, more functional, and enjoyable for everyone.
