GEC Celebrates Preschool Graduations

The Guild for Exceptional Children (GEC) held four graduation ceremonies in their preschool: two on June 21st and two on June 22nd. These ceremonies mark a significant milestone for these preschoolers, who learned and played alongside one another throughout the school year, receiving instruction and support in foundational knowledge, social skills, communication, and so much more. Since GEC serves children with special needs from a variety of backgrounds, the ceremony, conducted by Preschool Director Jolene Gunther-Doherty was presented in English, Mandarin, and Spanish. The families of the graduates and GEC staff joyfully watched the children as they received their diplomas. GEC Executive Director Joe Riley spoke about the need for advocacy in getting the City and State to support these vital programs and thanked the preschool teaching staff and therapists for their dedication and love, as well as the parents for choosing GEC. The children were very happy and the parents very proud! Congratulations graduates!!!
